Size guide.

Lion jackets, smocks, salopettes, shirts and shorts are cut in one unisex run, XS to XL. Measure your body, not a garment you own, then find the size whose row fits. The women's chart shows which unisex size fits a women's figure.

Sleeve is measured from the centre back of the neck. Height decides body and sleeve length, so a tall, slim build often wants the size its height points to.

Salopettes are sized by waist and hip, but the bib and leg follow your height: if the two disagree, take the larger.

How to measure

Where to measure: chest, waist, hip, sleeve, inseam and height 123456
  1. Chest. Arms relaxed at your sides, measure around the fullest part of the chest, under the arms. Keep the tape level.
  2. Waist. Around your natural waist, the narrowest part of the torso, usually just above the belly button.
  3. Hip. Feet together, around the widest part of the hips and seat.
  4. Sleeve. Arm relaxed and slightly bent: from the centre back of the neck, over the shoulder and elbow, to the wrist bone.
  5. Inseam. Standing, from the crotch down the inside of the leg to the floor, barefoot.
  6. Height. Barefoot, back against a wall, from the floor to the top of the head.

Use a soft tape over a base layer, snug but not tight, and ask someone to help with the sleeve.

Between sizes

Foul-weather jackets, smocks and salopettes go over a fleece or mid-layer. If you are between sizes and sail in cold weather, take the larger. Tech shirts and shorts sit next to the skin: take the smaller for a close fit, the larger for a relaxed one.

Unworn apparel can be exchanged within 30 days of delivery. Pieces customised with a boat name, logo or colours are made for you and cannot be returned, so if you are unsure, send your measurements first and the loft will confirm the size before it is cut.
